And this evening, right after my work, Big Bee had to complete more Math homework with this question which Hubby helped her with:
Look at the numbers shown on the face below.
Draw a straight line to split the clock face in half in such a way that the sum of numbers on one side of the line is equal to the sum of numbers on the other side of the line.

I don't ever remembering doing any sums like this even in upper primary! Now I shudder to think what Little Bee's homework will be like in future. And seriously considering tuition for next year!

Yes yes someone tested me on this question and it was in some primary one test.
u r kidding me! that kind of Qs for 20 pages???
OK I am really stopping at one!
Candice: Wait till you see their Mandarin! Also very cheem! And primary one kids are learning words like witches' "cauldrons" versus mere "pots"! My goodness!
Viv: Oh yes, I rem you told me about this question before!!
Average Joan: No la, the 20-pages homework are not all that cheem, else I would faint! But still they are questions like 98-79 = ? Sigh, so I also need to calculate myself!
ok, e qn is quite simple if we use logical thinking but how do we work out the working? please blog about the correct answer and it's working. thx :)
gosh! no joke...so cheem!
I will be in trouble 5 years later..
The syllabus nowadays are really not easy!
Maybe it's good that you're considering outsourcing Maths and just focus on your core and strong subjects like English/Creative Writing etc with Nic!
relax mommy..Charmaine brought back the same amt of work too..but instead of trying to complete in 1 session, we split it into 2. this way, they can absorb and also learn to check their own work.
The clock qtn is one of those that need thinking skill..
Take it easy..or you will be so stressed out when she enters P2..
