As the girls grow older, we are beginning to enjoy more of their conversations with us. Here are a couple of snippets from our recent chats:
Setting: A restaurant, where Hubby and I were discussing about Saw Phaik Hwa's resignation from SMRT and its implications...while Big Bee was listening intently. Suddenly, she turned to her Papa and asked him seriously....
Big Bee: So, do you pity or scorn her?
Hubby: (a little stunned) Wow. So do you sympathise and empathise with her??
Big Bee: Hmm....not really....

On the eve of Chinese New Year, as we are decorating our pussy willow with festive trinkets, I told the girls that legend says that the God of Fortune will come to everyone's house at the stroke of midnight.
Little Bee said with a knowing nod and much sagacity: "Ohhhh....now I know. So, God of Fortune is the Chinese Santa Claus. And these pussy willows are like Christmas trees! So...will he bring presents???"
Me: >_<
